Never a single issue and everything works as it did from factory. It is Champagne, with excellent wood, leather, etc. She has been a SW Regional Champ in Concours' and in 2012 she was second in the country in her class in slalom. The vehicle was in original condition, with sable brown exterior, and cinnamon leather interior. The car is a matching numbers car with approximately 54K miles and sports an automatic gearbox and chrome wire wheels. When delivered, the automatic gearbox was nonfunctional, so the engine and gearbox were removed to have the original gearbox rebuilt. This kicked off a comprehensive 14 year major restoration which included a complete bare metal color change to Platinum and a new BAS interior in the buckskin color. The engine bay was dismantled and fully detailed to original spec and all suspension parts were restored or replaced. The engine ran fine at teardown so it was left as original but detailed to show quality. The interior was completely restored using only the finest quality materials supplied by BAS Jaguar Trim of Vancouver, Canada. Most external chrome was replaced with NOS or re-plated to show standard. The tires are new Dunlop SP radials on the original rims, and the spare is the original Dunlop that was never out of the car. The 3 piece original trunk tool set is present in a new original spec jack bag. The braking system was fully rebuilt and a new stainless exhaust system along with an NOS chrome 4 outlet tail pipe installed. All work is photo documented and there is a huge file of invoices supporting the work done during the 14 year restoration process. This fine XKE has been invited to the prestigious Boca Raton Concours d'Elegance (the southern version of Amelia Island) the past two years and has done quite well. The Jaguar runs well and cool, the original radio works great, and is a pleasure to drive( and yes the A/C blows cold!) I bought this car last fall and drove it a bit then winter came and I found out I have a kid so I'm looking to sell. It's very good shape, just needs a tune up and a little love. I bought it as a drivable small project to play with in the summer. It ran fine in January, tried starting today and it starts but sputters and stalls... With a few hours work this car can be road worthy or a few days work can be prestine. Perfect glass, no rust or anything. Car was garage stored when I bought it. I've had offers for parts but this cars to beautiful to want to break up. Please contact if your interested. I'm looking to sell soon and would rather see it go to a good home than to rip it apart for a quick buck. I'm asking 4000$ for it. This is a matching numbers car and was restored based on the production record of the factory (copy available) provided by the the Jaguar Heritage Trust. The car has the most desirable color combination black car with red interior and black top plus the SE optional chrome wire wheels instead of the painted wire wheels. The cars VIN starts with an S confirming that this is a real special equipment car. At the moment the car is fitted with an overdrive transmission to enable perfect cruising and the original close ratio gearbox comes with the car. The car is equipped with the extremely seldom 2” H8 Sandcast Racing Carburetors. The engine of the car is rebuild to the same specifications as the Jaguar C Type race cars with as set of very hard to get new old stock C-Type high compression pistons to maximize performance. Fundamentally unrestored 51,000 mile car with some refreshing over the years including bare-metal repaint about 10 years ago and just completed full motor rebuild (100 miles since). Matching numbers, interior is older, possibly original, and holding up pretty well but showing some age in places. Needs a new top. In 1981, the XJ-S was updated to become the HE with a new high compression cylinder head design giving a noticeable improvement in fuel economy without sacrificing performance while the interior also benefited from the addition of wood and chrome missing in the Seventies original. Collectible 1988 Jaguar XJS V12 convertible. This is the Hess Eisenhardt conversion made for Jaguar Cars of North Ameria during the period Jaguar did not produce a factory convertible. Original condition, low mileage (40k), always garaged, diamond in the rough. Wire wheels on the vehicle, factory stamped mag wheels included. Runs great, cold air. Not interested in low-ball offers, shipping scams, or referrals to other car sites. If you're not interested enough to come see it before negotiating a price, I figure you're wasting my time. We are moving house and I will have no covered space for my beautiful British Racing Green/Barley 1989 XJS Convertible with 70,050 miles on the clock. It has been my every day driver since 2004. Car has lived in garages since new. NEVER parked outside. I am the second owner and have all the original documents including window sticker, handbook, instructions etc., etc. Have all repair and parts receipts since new. Car is in prize winning driven class condition and is located in South Florida. New canvas top and headlining to Jaguar specifications fitted 5 or 6 years ago. New rear-end overhaul in 2012 including brake rotors, calipers and pads (including parking brake), cradle V-mounts (both sides), output shaft bearings, seals and o-rings (both sides). Front suspension overhaul in 2012 including new improved urethane anti-roll bar bushings, front suspension mounting bushings, lower control arm bushings, Engine to sub-frame V-mount bushes, engine sump top and bottom gaskets. This is a great driving car with a pristine interior with the exception of the veneer. It has been driven with care and the suspension still rides great! Unfortunately the motor has a bad cylinder and the car no longer runs. That said the frame is still good and free of rust. Whether you want this car for a rebuild project or you have the ability to take the car apart and re sell the parts this is a classic car to which original parts are expensive and hard to find. I am asking $1,000 OBO. My only requirements are that it be picked up from Alexandria, VA and that you take the whole car. I will be happy to E-Mail any pictures of the car that you may want all you need to do is ask. |
