I took the car out to Cars and Coffee (where Jaguar was representing with my 96 and HB's 61) this weekend and while I was driving I noticed that I was getting a bumping sound/thump sound. At first I thought it was when I was coasting and maybe the wheel bearings but on the drive home I think I narrowed it down to when I started to apply the breaks. I almost felt when you drive a car that has been sitting for a long time and has a dead spot on one of the tires. Once I applied the break it would start but when I applied the break harder it would go away. Bad Rotor maybe?
I am currently traveling this week and have not had the time to jack the car up and five the wheel a free spin to see if catching, having any friction, or even if there is any lateral play in the wheel. I thought I would shoot this out there and see if anyone else has had a similar experience?
Thanks everyone.

I had a similar issue. Turned out to be a worn upper shock rubber bushing. Easy enough to check.

So I had a little time to take a look at the front end of the car. It looks like the lower grease filled bushings are shot on both the drivers side and passenger side. The are both cracked and falling apart. Would this be the cause of my issues? Here are a few pics of the bushings.

Would this be a pretty easy job to fix or do you recommend taking it somewhere?

yes, although it is unusual unless they are totally destroyed, It looks like time to rebush the front end.
