Fuel leaking out of air intake port on Stomberg Carb

My 1970 series II xke has fuel leaking out of the the air intake on one of the stromberg carbs opening around the bottom of the piston. From the diagram of the carb, I see that there is a diaphragm located above the piston but can't tell if there is an o-ring/diaphragm/seal below the piston. Any suggestions on where the leak may be from or areas to focus on?

You seem to have a sunk or stuck float!

My experience is that the floats on the Stombergs are prone to filling up with fuel and sinking. Has happened twice on my car in the past 12 years. They will also stick open. I have been able to tap on the side of the carb with a hammer and unstick it to stop the fuel dribbling out of the intake horn. On my '68 I am able to remove the float bowl from the bottom of the carb to get at the float with out removing the carb from the car. Otherwise it is not too hard to remove both carbs as a unit to get at the floats
