Head lights on a 2005 XK8

Hi there, I had the head lights on auto and they were working fine, then everything turned off and I had to put them back on by turning the knob to manual position. Does any one have any idea why? Also can someone tell me where the reservoir for the soft top hydraulic system is? I read a blog on another Jaguar site and took the back seat out and the left speaker panel but did not see anything hydraulic there!
