Hello, i'm new to the forum. I have a 2002 Jaguar XJR, that isn't running at the moment. I am wondering if anyone can recommend a mechanic in the southwestern Ontario area, I am in Waterloo. I have heard of Backstreet Heroes in Arthur, Ontario, has anyone dealt with them? Cheers!
A few of us briefly discussed your situation after our monthly meeting last night and the consensus was that you should perhaps look elsewhere. Offhand, no one had any concrete suggestions in your area that sprung to mind insofar as Jaguar specialists, but then again, we do not have many members from your region and the ones that are were not in attendance last night.
You also have a fairly new vehicle (compared to many of our members' antiques) and it sounds like you wish to get your vehicle functioning rather than getting a complete restoration done. You may get some other responses/suggestions from other members, but failing this I would suggest that you take the vehicle to Jaguar Waterloo which is the local dealer and who will have the correct diagnostic equipment and tools to repair your vehicle. I have included a link below of Canadian Jaguar dealers. As for good private repair shops, you would probably have to come closer to Toronto/Oakville - a very long flatbed trip! Hope that this is of some assistance.
I would also like to extend you an invitation to join our club. Most of our members are naturally located in the Toronto area, but we have members as far as London to the west and as far north as Georgian Bay. We have many fun events during the year and would be pleased to have you join in.

Thank you for the response and the invitation to join the club. I used to go to Gemini motors when they were the local Jaguar dealer, but i wasn't very happy with them, that's why i was looking for a local specialist. If you could suggest someone in Oakville or Toronto i would take it there. Thanks again in advance for your help and suggestions.
I have friends whose "newer" Jaguars (i.e. a VDP V8 and an XJR 6cyl) were serviced at "The Cat's Cradle" in Toronto with good results reported. The Cat's Cradle also did the e-testing on our own 1990 XJ-S last year and I would return. I have never dealt with "Back Street Heroes" ... A dealer will charge the most dearly methinks.
Sugest you go the hyperlink under my name which links to the local Jaguar club website ("OJOA") and browse the OJOA webpage for the link to "Avertisers" you will find the mechanic amongst the many advertisers.
