Hello!
I have a 2004 XJ8 and the RPM keeps going up and down, with a noticeable pull when it is up. It is as if I were to constantly push and pull back on the gas pedal.
I chaged the throttle body, knowing that it is a know problem with this model, but it is still doing it.
Anybody have that happen before?

Did you disconnect the battery after the throttle body replacement?? That has to be done so the system can initialize itself. That also has to be done following a throttle bore cleaning, etc. since that changes the base air around the throttle butterfly.

Gents,
The dang beast is still doing the same thing. Disconnected the battery for a few hours, replaced the throttle body.
Could it possibly be the gas pedal? I saw a YouTube with a gentleman who had to replace the gas pedal when he thought it was the throttle body all along.
How does the gas pedal work? I didn't see a cable, so I am assuming that this is fly-by-wire.
Does that make any sense?
