It's coming time to have the tires balanced on my XJ8L and since I'm not near a dealer and the wheels are the type that requires the weights to be stuck on inside the rim, I wanted to get opinions on where to look to get a good balance---------Sears, one of the Tire company shops, or just where? These wheels aren't the kind where one just bangs on the weights around the outside or inside rim lip, so just want to get some ideas.

I would go to a tire shop that also sells custom wheels. These guys know how to dynamically balance wheels without scratching the VERY EXPENSIVE that they sell. If they want to keep customers and get referral business, they'll do it right...the first time!

You might consider having your tires road force balanced. It is usually a bit more expensive than dynamic balancing but does a superior job. Shops with the Hunter GSP9700 equipment usually know how to treat expensive wheels.

I was surprised at how many companies have the "Hunter" road force balancing equipment in my area and after going to the "road force balancing" page in the note sent by Max, above, and watching the short video's, I will most certainly take my car to one of the dealers in this area.

Just as an update, I did have my wheels blanced with a "Hunter Road Force" blancing machine and as stated above, by Max, the results were superior.
I was lucky in the fact, that a young man who is a neighbor in my country place area, works for the local dealer (Toyoto) that has the machine and I was alloyed to watch the procedure and machine do it's thing-------very impressive. I'm a beliver.
