Hi Need your help ! 1998 -2003 XJ8. I assume the Hood / Bonnet latch operations are the same.

The Driver side of the Hood / Bonnet releases and Pops up fine. The Passenger side does not budge. How can I get access to the passenger side latch to operate the latch?

Here is what I have done with no success:

I had someone hold on the interior hood release and pryed and pulled up on the passenger side with no success.

I pulled the passenger side plastic wheel housing shield an drilled a couple of holes , but when I insert a coat hanger wire to explore their is obstructions---most likely the Box that contains the computer and electronic modules?? I also probed the Fastener holes that secure the wheel housing shield. NO Luck

I was next going to attempt to get it open by slipping a hacksaw blade thru to the latch from the rear lip of the bonnet / hood ? but i need your help with some measurements and information to locate the tip of the passenger side latch.

Can some one give me some measurements / Distance from the rear lip of the bonnet / hood to the latch actuator lever / tip and the measurement from the outside edge (fender side) of the bonnet / hood to the latch actuator tip ?

I also need to know if the Latch lever tip is on the passenger fender side of the latch or the other side, toward the throttle body?

If I can get a thin blade inserted from the rear lip of the bonnet / hood do I need to push the Latch lever Tip toward the front of the vehicle, or pull it back toward the windshield ??

Your help and input Greatly Appreciated

Thank you
