Hi All,

Anyone here have the low headlights/low front end because of sagging front springs? If you have and you have fixed it, what was involved? New springs? If so, where did you get them? My front tires are wearing on the inside edges and I have read that the camber is not adjustable. Is that so? 97 XK8 convertible.

Thanks!

Scott yes the springs will sag and replacements can be had from Jaguar. They will get to a point that your tires will rub the inner fender on bumps.

Scott - my '98 Convertible had bad wear on the insides of both front tires when I bought it five years ago. I had my local Jaguar dealer reset the tracking before buying a new set, and those wore down evenly, so the adjustments clearly worked. It sounds like the springs may be the culprit in your case, but it's probably worth having the geometry checked anyway before investing in new rubber.

Thanks! I had read somewhere that the adjustment was impossible. The only way to get the geometry back to spec was to replace the springs. Anyone else ever get the alignment done on this generation XK8?

Just had my 97 Coupe checked for alignment and was told no adjustment was possible caster/camber. Springs and control arm bushings may be the answer. Mine weren't terrible, but they'll develop the same issue with use.
