I own 875006. It is the second oldest lhd roadster known to exist. This is the car mentioned in Phillip Porter's "E-type the Definitive History" on page 214 about midway down. After the New York show in 1961, it says 2 cars were flown in to Hornburg Jaguar in Beverly Hills--a coupe and a convertible--and both were bronze. I believe this to be the bronze coupe 004 on the turntable from the New York show(now owned by Mark Miller) and my car which was originally bronze. On page 214 it says that Frank Sinatra walked in one day and tried to buy the convertible, but Mr. Hornburg wouldn't sell it to him because it was the only one they had. The cars were used as show cars and passed around to the 22/23 dealers on the west coast. These two cars are also seen in the Sept 1961 issue of "Road & Track".
I know there must have been photos taken of these cars as they made the rounds to the dealers. I am looking for someone who has photos. I would be willing to pay for these as this is very important to me. Please let me know if you have any or know of someone who might.
Thank You,
James Strickland
