Back to AGM index

Traditionally the JCNA Annual General Meeting has been in a different venue every year and with the local JCNA affiliated Jaguar Club doing its very best we always have interesting venues

The AGM is a forum in which JCNA Club Delegates gather to discuss JCNA policy, procedures, rulebook revisions, and or deletions. The Affiliated Club Presidents, the Clubs Board of Directors or the general membership, select the Delegateswho receive an AGM agenda in advance so that they may discuss the agenda items within their respective clubs.

Each JCNA member is an integral part of the JCNA. Each member should know who the Regional Directors are and should contact them from time to time. The JCNA member should make every effort to attend the AGM, at least when it is held in the members region; it is all part of being involved with your club and its future.

Subjects on the agenda are submitted in advance to the JCNA President and JCNA Secretary in order to determine whether or not to submit the proposal to one of the committees for consideration. The Judge's Concours Rule Committee (JCRC), the Slalom Committee, and the Rally Committee are charged with reviewing all submitted proposals that pertain to the rules, clarification of a rule, to revise a rule or delete a rule.

There are seminars scheduled on a variety of subjects and there is a social side to the AGM. The host club will schedule shopping trips, a trip to a museum, sight seeing tour or an evening at the racetrack, some racing some watching. During the Saturday evening banquet after the guest speakers, JCNA presents a variety of honorary awards along with all of the awards members have earned throughout North America in sanctioned competition (Slalom, Rally and Concours).

There is a very simple procedure to follow if you want to submit an item or proposal to be considered for the Annual General Meeting Agenda.

Do not make it a lengthy document. Keep to the subject at hand. Do not editorialize. It is always a good idea to have others read the proposal before submitting it. Always type the proposal because hand written proposals may get misinterpreted.

Once the subject has been identified, give some back ground on why the subject should be on the agenda, and then explain the advantage for either adding the proposal to an exciting policy, rulebook or procedure.

1. Send the proposal to the JCNA President and a copy to JCNA Secretary. The proposal should be sent no later than eight (8) weeks prior to the scheduled AGM.

2. The President and Secretary will confer and decide whether or not the proposal should be sent to the Slalom Committee, the Rally Committee, or the Concours Committee.

3. The Preliminary Agenda plus late information will be sent to the Regional Directors six (6) weeks prior to the scheduled AGM.

4. Committee Status reports are due six (6) weeks prior to the scheduled AGM. Send the reports to the President and copy the JCNA Secretary.

5. All JCNA Club delegates should have their registration in no later than six (6) weeks prior to the scheduled AGM.

6. The AGM agenda and committee reports will be sent to all registered delegates one (1) month prior to the scheduled AGM.

7. Proxy letters from the JCNA Club Presidents to the JCNA Secretary are due one (1) month prior to the scheduled AGM. Emergency proxies will be accepted up until the AGM convenes.

The AGM is called to order by the JCNA President and thence proceeds with the approved agenda.
