Judging Criteria

Content ( 60%) - each item scored from 1 to 10, maximum score 60

  • Uniqueness: Content should be something that is not normally found on other sites. Other sites may have similar content but the editorial presentation would make it unique.
  • Quantity: How much of any item, section, resource etc., is provided? Sites should, at a minimum, provide a balance of quality content over several areas. Sites that provide more quality content over several areas will be ranked higher.
  • Timeliness: is all the content on the site up to date? Time sensitive elements such as calendars, upcoming event notices, results of recent events should be updated in a timely manner. Outdated elements such as past events on the calendar should be removed on a regular basis.
  • Quality: information and articles will be evaluated for correctness and gross spelling / grammatical errors. Non original content such as reprints of articles and stories from other sites or publications will not be considered and will not receive credit. When applicable, completeness will be judged as well such as: contact information and directions for upcoming events, events results, etc.
  • Value: This is the aggregate value of the website to both members and visitors. "Why would a person visit this site more than once?" will be predominant question used to judge this item. Does the site offer articles and material of interest to non-members such as model guides, technical information, etc.
  • Imaging: Images are important to enhance a visitor’s experience of a site. Qualities of composition style and subject matter as well as loading speed are primary considerations. How well images are incorporated in the site's content will be the value of those images. Websites whose images are without titles and/or descriptions and images of poor quality will score less.

Interface and Graphics (20 %) - each item scored from 1 to 10, total score ( 40 maximum ) divided by 2

  • Intuitiveness of Navigation: pages and sections should be easy to find; various features should be grouped together in a logical manner. Buttons, icons and links should be easy to understand and stand out so that visitors can easily find the information they are looking for.
  • Originality: uniqueness of visual theme, navigation structure and page layout will be judged. Do they enhance and complement the visitor's experience of the site?
  • Consistency: Is there a common style format and look throughout the site. Backgrounds, colors, fonts, etc. should be consistent giving the site a unified look.
  • Graphic Styling: while this is obviously a subjective element influenced by which personal, the main consideration should be: Is this site pleasant to view and is it representative of the Jaguar "image"?

Technical (20 %) - each item scored from 1 to 10, total score ( 40 maximum ) divided by 2.  Judges will not analyze each site in details for technical problems but instead will deduct points in each of the following categories as they encounter problems while navigating a site. All sites start with a perfect score for this category.
