2003 JCC chair Dennis Eynon and his crew did a superb job putting this event together. The schedule was packed with activities and the support of all the sponsors allowed JCNA to subsidize part of the entry fee making this an incredible value for JCNA members... the $160 entry fee covered not only the event registration but all the meals during these four days... what a deal for those who attended!

While everything was remarkably well organized, planned and executed like clock work, the 2003 Challenge Championship was a very relaxed, informal and stress free time enjoyed by all with none of the tension that can occur at big national meets. A numbers of participants who frequently attend other Marques' national meets pointed out that Challenge Championship committee had set a new standard by which other events will be judged.

Overall attendance was lower than in Franklin Tn in 2001 but higher than Colorado in 1999, the last time the Challenge was held in the west. The quality of the cars and the enthusiasm of the participants was certainly not down by any mean with many stunning rare cars on display. Among them, a sampling of Jaguar's golden racing years presented by Terry Larson with an SS100,a C-Type, a D-Type and a lighweight E-type. All very rare examples of the cars that made the Jaguar name on the track.

JCNA members drove or shipped their cars from as far as New England, Quebec or South Florida. The driving events also registered record numbers of participants, especially the slalom with an all time record of 52 entries!

The Challenge Championship was also a great opportunity to raise money for charity, such as with the auction of the official commemorative painting and of Le Mans era posters signed by Norman Dewis.
