C-Type in Detail
|

The rear portion of the C-Type has a very sparse appearance. This simple live axle would look at home on any contemporary street car. The rear axle ratio would have been anywhere between 2.7:1 and 4.2:1, depending on the course being run. A Panhard rod, reaction link, and two trailing links locate the rear axle, while a single transverse torsion bar and telescopic shock absorbers complete the suspension. Out of view in this photo: rear brakes were drums in this early car.
