The Hansgen Special - Cockpit

Most of the interior components are unchanged from the source XK 120. The floor is unfinished aluminum. Roll bar is a modern addition, required for competition in modern vintage events.The roll bar is fully detachable, allowing the car to be shown in it's original configuration. The original XK120 seats were discarded early in the car's history by Walt Hansgen. The current seats date to the first year of the car's racing history and probably originated from a Siata. The tiny windscreen is typical for the period.
About the author - Michael Frank is Vice President and Webmaster of the Jaguar Touring Club. His red 2+2 E-Type is a familiar sight at JCNA events in the Northeast. Currently, he is building a reproduction of the 1963 Cunningham Lightweight E-Type.
About the owner - Bob Millstein is the proprietor of Briarcliff Classic Imported (914 762-1200), an independent repair and restoration facility in Briarcliff Manor, NY. He is a member of JCNA, and an accomplished vintage race driver. Bob and his car are frequent participants in vintage competition.
