The Hansgen Special - Left Engine View
|
![]()
Under the bonnet we find a 3.5 Liter XK engine, built to C-Type specification with hotter cams and higher compression. The header exhaust system is original, and was probably made by Hansgen himself. It exits through the side of the car. The torsion bar suspension components were salvaged from the donor XK 120. The rack was sourced from an MG, one of the few non-Jaguar mechanical components. Radiator overflow and engine breather snake down to catch cans located low on the railings. An XK 120 dynamo supplies electrical power. Note the cable take-off on the rear of the cam cover for the mechanical tachometer.
