Undo the leather straps and remove the roll bar support to open the hinged boot lid. The boot contains a modern fuel cell, required for current race events. Originally, a twenty gallon long range fuel tank was fitted. Battery is positioned to balance the weight of the fuel tank. Fire control system is also modern. Note aluminum framework on underside of bootlid.

In this view, the lightweight framework which supports the aluminum skin is clearly visible. Brake drum is an Alfin vented aluminum item. The roll bar support hooks to a mount which projects through the bootlid, it must be removed in order to open the boot. This is accomplished with a special snap fastener.
