Art Dickenson finally broke the 40 second barrier with his modified XJS. As a matter of fact, he blew right through it and lowered the standard below the 39 second mark at the same time. Driving "Silver," a modified 1983 XJS Coupe, Art posted an excellent drive on a sticky course on a perfect day. The time - 38.936 seconds.
Art was, as usual, free with his advice and pointed out the new air induction on the XJS as well as the Goodyear Eagle slicks that helped him on his speedy way.
Not only did the Class "I" record fall, but two times were posted in Class F that beat last year's top time
