Two last chances for point in one week end...
At the request of the JCNA we
are trying something different in Phoenix
and Tucson. The Jaguar Club of Central Arizona and the Jaguar Club of
Southern Arizona are collaborating to create an Arizona Concours
Weekend.
Saturday, October 26, the Jaguar Club of Southern Arizona
will be
holding their annual concours in Tucson. Sunday, October 27th, the
Jaguar Club of Central Arizona will be holding their Saloons in the Old
West Concours (for all Jaguar automobiles) in Phoenix.
Phoenix and Tucson are about 100 miles apart. At the
speed limit that's
under two hours from venue to venue.
Make your base of operations Tucson or Phoenix, or if
you are very
mobile, stay overnight in Tucson, Friday, and Phoenix, Saturday.
These are among of the last concours of the season,
so it's two, count
'em, two of your last chances to earn points toward national or regional
rankings. In fact, because only two concours are needed for regional
rankings, you could satisfy the requirements in two days, and more
importantly, only one car detailing.
In Phoenix, because we host the Saloons in the Old West
concours, we
highlight the cars that made the profits for Jaguar in good times and
kept them afloat in bad. We recognize their lofty place in Jaguar
history by offering a second Best of Show award just for saloons. As
always, we are hoping for examples of all saloon models from the
Swallow-bodied cars to the X-type and would be extremely appreciative
of some of the rarer examples.
I have information including the schedules, lodging,
weather averages
and extremes, awards, maps, and entry forms for both concours on the
JCCA website at www.jcca.us. The link to the site is located under the
Upcoming Events heading.
Mark Stephenson, JCCA.
