1968 XKE Roadster - 1.5, 4.2, Auction

1968 XKE Roadster, 4.3, Series 1.5, manual transmission. Only 60K original miles and 3 owners. I have the Heritage Certificate. Many, many extra parts, including all chrome, rotors, and calipers.

On its release in March 1961 Enzo Ferrari called it "the most beautiful car ever made". In 2004, Sports Car International magazine placed the E-Type at number one on their list of Top Sports Cars of the 1960s. In March 2008, the Jaguar E-Type ranked first in The Daily Telegraph online list of the world's "100 most beautiful cars" of all time.
This beauty has been in storage for many years.

It runs (see video on auction site), now it needs a tune-up, rear brakes (new front brakes just finished), paint and upholstery to make it perfect.

This prime collector's car is being sold in January at auction with a minimum reserve bid of $40,000.
Take a look at this picture and then look up the auction URL at:

1973 Jaguar XJ12 (Series 1)

This 1973 Jaguar XJ12 has been in my family for approximately 15 years. The car is finished in the original color sable over biscuit tan leather and powered by a 5.3-liter V12 mated to the original automatic transmission. Car has approx. 79000 original miles. This XJ12 is offered from South Carolina with an owner’s manual, maintenance records, a clean recent inspection report, and registration in the seller’s name. There were no more than 2500 XJ12's produced between 1972-1973.

The car to my knowledge has been in only two families and is all original minus a new Nardi steering wheel. She has gone through extensive repairs to make her mechanically sound and a daily driver. All repairs have been done through our local vintage jaguar shop, Charleston Import Auto.

Repairs since the car has been in my possession to make it a road worthy daily driver include new crossmember mounts, new steering rack and wheel, transmission serviced, renew valve cover gaskets, replacing belts, repairing the radiator, repairing fuel tanks and recoating, rebuild carbs and ignition tune up, new brake calipers and master cyl, all new front and rear leather seats, rebuild exhaust from headers back to rear tailpipes, rust repair. I have documentation paperwork for all this totaling more than 15k.

There is no structural rust on this car. Rust remaining is limits to front two floor pans and passenger rocker.

Please email me at patrickbuhler@att.net with any inquires. Asking $6800, but will entertain offers.

'63 E-Type Series 1 OTS, fresh restoration

This is my car. It is listed in a 7-day online auction. BaT is better than Ebay for many reasons. Please look at my car, comment and bid. Thank you.

https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1963-jaguar-xke-roadster-4/

This is a 1963 E-Type OTS, Series 1, 3.8 litre, cream with a red interior and black top, chassis number 877639. It has been in the same family since 1982 and driven almost exclusively by the seller the entire time. The clean California title has been in the seller’s name since 1995.

Its Jaguar-Daimler Heritage Trust Certificate indicates the car was first distributed through Jaguar Cars, New York, USA and dispatched to the first owner 1st Lt. C.A. Bellis III on the 13th of July 1962.

This example has just completed a no expense spared comprehensive bare metal rotisserie restoration and is ready to show at the finest Concours events, drive, or both. More work has been done than can be fully detailed in this brief summary.

The engine, gearbox, and rear end are original. The numbers and colors match the data plate and the Heritage Certificate. The entire car was taken down to the last bolt. Marque specialist Steve Gordon of Vintage Auto Service of Oakland, CA, rebuilt the motor, gearbox, rear end, suspension, and put the entire car back together. Steve is a former JCNA judge at the national level. Paint work was done by Brian Hoyt of the world renowned Perfect Reflections, FerrariPaint.com. Brian has done many award winning cars for Pebble Beach including at least one that won Best of Show.

The car is as true to original as possible. The car never had seat belts and still doesn't today. No radio, no antenna, no side mirrors either, just like it left the factory. All of those items were dealer installed back in the day. It even has a period correct Marston type radiator which was considerably more expensive than other Concours accepted alternatives at the time of restoration.

There are no modifications to make it "better." No hidden fans, no swapped gearbox, no reduced rear end gears. A well sorted 3.8, which this is, shouldn't have cooling issues during normal use if everything is working properly. It drives just like it did the day it left the factory, amazing!

After an earlier chassis number Jaguar put a recess behind the front seats that added an extra 1.5" of seat travel. Shortly after the offered car’s number in 1963 Jaguar eliminated the brushed metal dash and center console and went to all black vinyl starting with chassis number 879803. The brushed metal gives it that classic look and the extra legroom always helps. The car offered here is in the sweet spot of Series 1’s.

The car has its original jack and a complete tool kit.

It would be a challenge to find a finer restored Series 1 E-Type Roadster on the market today.
