Greeting to other slalom enthusiast-------recent information about the Va. CC Slalom runs spoke of SLALOM HELMUTS: SNELL M95, SNELL SA95 or later.
I would like to purchase my helmut but need direction concerning qualified helmuts, etc.,etc.,etc.

At any JCNA slalom I've ever been to, as long as it looks like a helmet, it's good enough (no one has ever looked at any rating). It's not like you can even remotely get injured. There's nothing to hit and the car isn't going to roll over, so realistically a helmet is not needed (if it wasn't for liability concerns).
If some JCNA affiliate is specifying a helmet rating to participate in a slalom, they are going way overboard. if you were participating in a track day, that's an entirely different matter.
Eddie the requirements for helmets are found in the Slalom rules. These are not rules of the VA club but LONG standing requirements of JCNA and perhaps more to the point our carrier. These requirements were worked out years ago by past officers and are still in effect. Steve's opinion aside there is your source.
