Hi, I am a new member but have worked on Jaugaurs all of my life, since 1975. I have had my 1961 e type since 1984 but just now requested my Heritage cert as I am restoring the car.

The stamped metal ID tag (with matching engine, and trans # etc.) says the body is R1576, as does Heritage, but the stamped picture frame, bonnet (right side bracket) and riveted boot tag all say R1575. the car has never been really restored before, just maintained and driven.

Is it possible the metal ID tag was mistamped as R1576 when it should have been R1575? It seems unlikely that someone would have moved the tag from R1576 onto an otherwise perfectly running R1575 body and moved the engine, transmissions and original paint colors too, right? What do you think?
