I just purchased a 1987 xj6 does the straight 6 cylender have a fuel filter the car will start up but when you drive a 100 feet or so it dies . i am going to drain the fuel tanks as the fuel smells old . any other thoughts on problems. thank you

Yes there is a fuel filter. Should be located in the right front of the spare tire well.
