The last time I tried to open the hatch, I pulled the release and the hatch popped up. When
I tried to lift it up to push the safety latch, I couldn't get my fingers to the latch. I've
tried an assortment of devices to get to the latch and nothing worked. When I try to close
the hatch, it will not latch.

just bought mine, latch mechanism was very dry, I have lubed with some grease and is better...but still needs a good alignment......Art..
