The passenger side door only opens from the inside. The outside handle doesn't feel like it is attached to anything. Probably an easy fix, but this is my first Jag, and before I tear it apart I want to know if this is a typical problem and how to fix it. Thanks!

Charline, is this an XJ40 model? If so the door handles were the worst ever fitted on a jaguar.
YES, HAD THIS PROBLEM WITH A 94 XJ6. There is an ear on the mechanism that snaps off. The metal is cheap pot-metal, so breaks easily. It's not too difficult to replace, but as usual w/Jaguar, in a tight area. Have a new replacement standing by. You will usually have to do a bit of adjusting to get the new mechanism to open the door.
