I need help trying to figure out why my brakes will not release. New hoses, rebuilt master, fresh servo. Stainless steel housings. Had brakes until I developed a leak at the master. rebuilt it to find I have no leask as full pedal and the brakes are not releasing. I open the master supply to the brakes, relieve pressure and they will remain clear untilthe next time that I hit the brakes.
Please help. the problem is porbably quite obvious to someone else. At this point I am frustrated beyond words.
Thanks,
Charlie

Charles first you might get a better response if you post in the proper forum. That aside your car came with a Dunlop Master cyl. which has not been avail for years. The Girling replacement needed a spacer to work properly. With the little information you provided I would check in this order:
1-is the cylinder a Girling and is there a spacer collar?
2-Is there any travel in the pedal or is it tight.
3-when the master was rebuilt were correct parts used and were they installed correct.

All of this leads to the same place- you make pressure when you apply the brake but it will not release which means the piston or and seal is covering the internal bleed. You have the symptoms of collapsed heses but you say they are ok. The only other thing that will do this is the same problem in the booster. The cup can deform and cover the hole. Good luck.
