I have a 1959 XK150. I am in the process of replacing the clutch. I purchased a new clutch kit from a well known parts supplier. The kit included a (clutch plate, pressure plate, and release bearing). I was told by the supplier that all the XK'S clutches are the same size 10". When we removed the old clutch the size of the clutch plate and pressure plate was 10". The friction surface where the clutch plate meets the pressure plate is 2". On the new clutch plate is 10" but the friction surface that meets the pressure plate is only 1 1/2". Everything will bolt up and work but my question is #1 will this effect the performance of the car? #2 is this normal for a replacement clutch to be smaller than the original? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated! Thank You, Bill
