Please forgive the direct approach, but I wonder if you anyone could help me in any way trace the history of my Cream Jaguar XKE Series 2 Fixed Head Coupe 1970/1 imported from America to the UK last year.

I know that the car (chassis number 2R28165) was originally sold by a dealer in Denver, Colorado in 1986 to the last owner who lived in Denver who I have traced. Do you know this car or any of the previous owners, did they sell it to a dealer on 1986 ? I really need to find the licence plate & ideally the previous owners before 1986 back to when it was new & imported to USA in Aug 1970 but may not have been registerd / licensed till 1971 ?
I am looking to complete the history of this car with a full restoration so could really use some help !
