I

I've had a knock in my engine for years at low idle. Used to always go away 2 seconds  after you started the car and the oil got pumped up into the engine. Now its around all the time at idle, it quits when you give it the gas and get it going.

Took the oil pan off, connecting rod clearences are 1.5- 2 mm, so thats ok. Noticed some scratching on one cylinder, see photo.

I'm guessing the wrist pin is worn, however you really cant feel any slop when pulling and pushing on the rod.

Where should I go from here, take the head off and piston out?
