Sorry for not being clear in my original note. But your assumption is correct. I did let the car run to get it to the right temperature. Turned the engine off and left the ignition on. Shorted it and the fans ran. I thought it could be the defective switch. Thanks for your confirmation. I bought the original one. Should I switch over to Cool Cat or just get another one?
