I purchased a very nice xk150S with the help and advice from a JCNA member. It was well priced with an engine rebuild in its future. That future is now!

I plan to have the engine overhauled by a top notch pro shop that specializes in XK engines. They have suggested upgrading to a 3.8 block along with other upgrades to cam shafts, main bearing seal, and other similar "modern" upgrades that will not show from the outside. The added cost is minimal since I will be completely rebuilding the engine anyway.
The current 3.4 engine is in fine shape with about 60k original miles.

Except for the transmission the car is matching numbers. Would I be affecting the value? I would of course keep the original block. Is the upgraded performance of a 3.8 substantial enough to do this? Obviously now is the time to make that decision!

Any insight or experience from the forum is much appreciated!
Thank you
Jeff
