1995 XJR occasionally slipping into neutral when stopped, tap the throttle and it catches.

After inspection the dealer has determined that the gear shift cable has frayed and needs to be replaced.

Having no luck finding a replacement new or used.

Does anyone have any suggestions on finding one?

Any chance the cable could be repaired?

Any help would be appreciated.

I have a similar problem for 1995 VdP, sometimes Park doesn't fully engage and the car will roll jerkily against the pawl if on a slope. I assume worn cable or cable linkages.
