I want to thank everyone who has responded to this forum issue on the transmission leak to my 2005 S-Type. It has really been a great help. I've decided to truck the Jaguar to a dealer some hundred miles away to see if it is willing to work on the car. After this discussion, it just seems to me that the Jaguar transmission is too intricate and complicated for a local mechanic who is not familiar with this type of transmission and who probably won't have access to the parts that may be defective.
