Last summer, I purchased a 2005 Jaguar, S-Type, 4.2 with 40500 miles on the odometer. Recently, I've noticed a leak in the transmission that is leaving small puddles on garage floor. A local transmission mechanic thought that the transmission pan might be cracked. He located and acquired a new pan, filter, gaskets, fluid, etc. His concern is how to get the fluid into the transmission. His manual is not clear on this issue.
Questions: Does he need a special tool to inject the fluid?
Where is the fluid intake hole located?
Would appreciate any information from someone who has experienced this problem along with any special hints or suggestions on the best procedure to use in replacing the transmission pan and injecting the fluid.
