Don't know how I lost it, but the lengthy post I did just disappeared!

I had a great time at the aircraft museum last weekend. Ginger did well organizing the event in the face of serious financial obstacles.

Many first timers were joined by several more experienced drivers like Pascal, Ginger, Art Dickenson, and me. Art made a special trip from Vancouver, B.C. to help, drive my car, and keep an eye on my attempt to break his 2002 record of 38.96 sec. in his XJS racecar. Close, but no cigar, as my time of 39.111 was .16 sec. too slow!

Larry Ligas whose E type racecar was broken, ran my car, and nearly matched my time! Dave Hinton looked the best in running 42 seconds using only four of his 6 cylinders! A new Mini scooted around the course with very little effort. Several drove the Ligas' Bugeye, which definately was the loudest car there!

Art Dickenson reports that this was the slalom's best year, having 30 scheduled slalom events. We convert more and more to this enjoyable competition each year. Everyone goes home smiling and vowing to improve.

I encourage you-all to come out next season and exercise your cat without running afoul of the law! Hopefully, you'll also try our fledgeling HPDE program at the tracks. We're out to have fun, and succeeding nicely.
Join us when you can.

Thanks Pascal, I will do so.

Are you sure Dick isn't holding sanctions with the intention of sending them to you in the new year?

the calendar is designed to be updated by the clubs... I receive copies of the sanctions by fax from Dick Howe but haven't seen one.

Clubs can list their event when they request sanction. When sanction is granted, I should just switch from sanction pending to sanctioned.

unfortunately, almost nobody does it this way which is a shame... not only fo rthe extra work I get, but because it would reduce date conflicts and mostly because clubs can add as much details as they want ( hotel, detailed schedule, text to "Sell" the event, etc... ) which is obviously not on the sanction request form...

Since it's your club, add them to the calendar. you need to do 2 entries, one for the Concours, one for the slalom.

It is being organized by JOA-Montreal with the support of all Northeast clubs but in particular JANE, JCSNE, OJC etc. Participants, judges and slalom organizers will be coming in from several different clubs, hence the "Regional" title. Concours on the Saturday and Slalom on the Sunday. Also celebrating the 50th anniversary of the XK120 DHC. The event has already been sanctioned. Are you receiving the details of sanctions granted for posting to the calendar?

Don't forget the regional slalom and concours has already been sanctioned for Stowe, Vermont in conjunction with the annual British Invasion weekend: September 18-21, 2003.

JTC already has two dates set for 2003:

Sat. June 28th
Sat. October 25 (5th Annual Jag-O-Lantern Slalom)

JCNA sanction has been requested and obtained, so these should appear on the calendar shortly. We are currently looking for a new location to run our slaloms, one that has a more wide-open area, perhaps even large enough to do a giant slalom. Once we know the location, we will post it on this website and announce it in our newsletter and on the JTC website as well.

In addition to JANE, the Jaguar Auto Group (JAG), another New Jersey JCNA affiliate, runs two slaloms every year as well, usually earlier in the spring than our JTC event in June, and one in late summer. So there's plenty of opportunity to get out and race.

As always, newcomers and spectators are welcome. All newcomers are given instructions, shown the course, given advise and if they want can even be accompanied by a veteran on their first run or two to learn the secrets of being a successful slalomer. It's in all our interest to encourage newcomers and expand the number of participants, so don't be bashful -- come out and race!!

JANE and JTC are the slalom's experts... Delaware does rallies...

you're lucky ! I have to wait once a year for a Slalom... and every 2 years at the JCC for a Rally !

Last year I drove 650 miles to a Concours/Rally/Slalom just to learn they had canned the driving events because of lask of interest... :-)
