I believe once a Regional Director is elected President of JCNA he should vacate his Regional Director position. With all the work and attention the President must give JCNA, his region has effectively lost his representation. This would also allow another member to hold an office at the National level.

Mr. Lovell,

If you had bothered to read the threads on here you would see that I have, in fact, responded on why the actions taken at the AGM were legitimate under both the JCNA By-laws and Roberts Rules of Order. Also, feel free to contact Dick Cavick to confirm the extensive discussions that have taken place with JCRC regarding potential resolution of this issue. Just because I haven't taken the time to respond to your prattling doesn't mean that I or anyone else has been ignoring the issue.

Yowza Mr> Weinstein,
It's amazing how you can manage to clarify the rules on holding a Regional Officer position while being President but you don't have the time to "clarify" the legitimacy of the new trailer rule for the Driven Divison.
Your Buddy, anxiously waiting for you to answer my letter/complaint, Bob Lovell

Sounds like the JCNA President is more like a Prime Minister (how British) or Speaker of the House (very US Congress) rather than a directly elected Executive-Commander in Chief ... BUT no party conventions and super-delegates please.

Len,

Under the current By-laws of JCNA, to be elected as an officer -- i.e., President, V.P. or Sec. -- you must be a Regional Director. You are right that the person elected President remains a Regional Director during his/her term as President. To change that as you suggest would require a By-laws change at the AGM.
