I have removed the carpets and the tunnel seal plug and found the location of the transmission fluid fill plug. The problem is I can't figure out how to remove it? It looks like a round plug with a cone shaped reamed out hole in the center. No place to put a wrench or allen wrench. Is this what they are suppose to look like? It is a 1970 OTS 4.2L. I think I have problems with the syncros in the tranny and have scheduled to do a rebuild this fall, however, I have had two very knowledgable Jag mechanics tell me that these 4 speed transmissions are almost bullet proof and they have never heard of the syncros going in one of them. One told me to replace the Transmission fluid before I get carried away. Seeing the fill plug I can't see where anyone could have replaced the fluid or added fluid for a long time so maybe they are right. Any ideas/suggestions?

Thanks
