Trying to find out real facts on manual XJS/US spec cars. A sign on a a white one at the show in Phoenix late April/early May this year stated (if I am recalling correctly) that only 10 have ever been imported into the US, all from a dealer in Calgary, the last one coming in '92. On the other hand, a dealer told me that one year Jaguar imported 50 coupes and 50 cabs into the US w/ manual transmissions.

Does anyone know the real story? I know there were more than 10, because of my 94 1/2 XJS cab w/ manual in Kingsfisher Blue that was purchased directly through an east-coast, US authorized/new car dealer that is still in business today.

Thanks!

The story is covered in John Dougdale's book "Jaguar in America". He did not want the cars and they were a predicted failure. 50 is the number he remembers.
