There is so much variance in this discussion it is incredible. First of all Queen Elizabeth is known in this country as our Queen , she is driven in her choice of Jaguar's and I for one are very happy she is not in one of Jaguar's competitors cars.
Our Concour ( PJEG )awards reflect the cost of entry into the event, everyone who recieves an award , even the 3rd place people in driven / enthusiast class are happy with the not cheap trophies.
The most perplexing thing myself and many of my friends are talking about is the Regional Awards. It is puzzling for many of us to reason why a competitor who wins every event in his region does not qualify for the Regional Champion Award . In most sporting events you may become the Regional Champion, well why not if in fact you have won every event in the Region... however if you are in the top 3 in N. A. Competition you automatically lose the regional award..... Many of us do not understand the logic behind such a scheme, how can someone else get the Regional Champion Award when they have been beaten at every Regional event by the TRUE REGIONAL CHAMPION . I believe this current rule should be abolished, not the monarchy.....Sincerely Yours, Art Dickenson, Jaguar Enthusiast.

Pascal,
the reason is this, Regional Champion and North American Champion carry more clout, than just shall we say 3rd in North America and does not show the true accomplishment of the car and the entrant when the car has won all local events. Basically the Regional award going to a car that may have not won a SINGLE Regional Concour is a misrepresentation of the quality / preparation of the vehicle.

i think the logic behind this rule is that North American awards are considered to be one step above Regional since they require 3 shows and entrants compete against a tougher competition.

I really dont' see why you would want to give TWO awards to the same car... doing so would discourage some participants to enter a second show in addition to their home concours if they know that they will not place regional.
