The local gas station sells non-ethanol 91 octane gas. Should I add an octane booster to it for my '73 2+2?
Thank you!

I have used Lucas Octane booster in my postwar cars.
There is a noticeable difference almost immediately (within the first half mile).
If you want an education on octane boosters, call the Tech Support guys at Lucas (as I did). They will explain how and why it works.

As far as keeping a can of Avgas in your garage keep in mind, modern day fuels don't have the shelf life you may think. The octane rating starts to diminish within a few weeks.

I have read that over-the-counter octane boosters aren't very effective, although I have no experience with any. My solution is to purchase 100+ octane gas (leaded or unleaded) at a specialty gas station. These are usually located near a race track or airport (Avgas). I fill a 5 gallon can at the station and store it in my garage. I add roughly 2 gallons to my tank every 2nd fill up of non-ethanol premium. This keeps my S1 E-Type from knocking and running on.
