I have a 95 XJ6 that is exhibiting a clicking or chattering noise that seems is coming from under the back seat on the drivers side. I suspect I'm hearing the puddle lamp relay chatter. However, the puddle lamp on the left rear door still works.
The recommended fix is to replace the latch assembly of the door as the microswitch in the latch is probably defective.
However, in addition, to the preceeding, the interior dome light blinks rapidly when the front passenger door is opened. Does anyone know if all of this is related to the microswitch mentioned above?
Is there any other fix short of replacing the latch on the rear door? If the latch has to be replaced can you comment on the level of difficulty on a scale of 1-5, with 5 being the most difficult.
Lastly, if I have to buy the latch can anyone recommend a reputable and low cost Jag parts website?
