Have you checked Janet Gutgrie's book "A Life at Full Throttle"? She bought a new XK120M coupe (she knew it as a 1953). The book has a photo (black & white) at her first event on Long Island. She graduated from U of Michigan in 1960. So the dates and places look about right for it to be her first Jaguar. The online reviews don't give enough datail.
