Hello Everyone,
I'm new to the jaguar world, and I just purchased a S3 OTS roadster. Mechanically this car is all original, and the suspension is in need a upgrades. I'm starting my restoration with the removal of the rear assembly, which of course needs new shocks. I have seen some companies listing the same part number shocks for all series E-type cars, and I have found others that have a separate part number for the series 3 cars, (with series 1 & 2 sharing another part#) My question is, are the shocks physically all the same dimensions for all e-types (including the spring collar positions)? Are the different part numbers I am seeing just a valving difference inside the shock or are their different dimension involved?
I know this is probably a simple question, but any help is appreciated.
