I have 1996 XJS Convertable, the alarms has been acting up for the last few weeks, the last time the alarm would not go off so I disconnected the battery, when i reconnected it the security system is dead. Have had it looked at by two experienced Jaguar techs who tell me the module is dead and i need to buy a new unit, this is very expensive and I am surprised that the unit cannot be re programed,,Have to hot wire the car if i want to use it, quite embarrasing with a luxury auto, anyone with any ideas,
