Does anyone know how to remove the trim? I have found several spring clips, but something is holding it at the door handle recess. I see 3 screws on the bottom of the door, but hesitate to remove them. No help in my copy of the Ser II service supplement.

I am assuming that the trim will drop out of the upper chrome trim when all clips have been pulled.

Be careful: The rear chrome trim must slide back about a half inch to expose a long screw. Don't remove the whole thing. I place a vinyl hammer on the piece and push while lightly tapping with another hammer. Silicon lubricant sprayed along the length of the trim helps. The chrome piece is secured by several cups pop rivited through the panel. You don't want these to get loose by prying. I'm not near my car right now and can't remember the rest of the procedure without seeing the door. The front chrome piece may want to slide forward to expose another screw - I can't remember. The top padded peice sides straight up. The with all the handles and top piece removed there are pluggy things about 5" o.c. along the perimeter that need to be popped loose - get a tool for this at NAPA or similar. I've done this several times, about 5 years ago, to correct a stubborn lock problem. Tell me how you make out, and if you have trouble e-mail me at home - I'm on the concours page of this site for some reason.
