Has anyone seen or (better yet) own such an animal, their existence has been questioned. Were they ever made or are they just extinct? Chassis and Engine Nos. from existing cars would help me complete the Judges Guide on these models.

Thanks for any information.

Daniel,
Good to hear from you! My research to date indicates that the Series 2 with the rear crossover, a carry over from the Series 1.5, was produced from the beginning of Series 2 production in August, 1968 to October 31, 1968. However, a very knowledgible fellow has told me that the Series 2, 2+2 with automatic tranny, was the only Series 2 produced that way. However, he can not document this. Since I have the 106th 2+2 produced on October 7, 1968, most of Series 2's that I sought out over it's 15 year restoration were 2+2's. I never expected to be writing the Series 2 Judges Guide, so I never documented my observations (say 10 a year for 15 years = 150+/- Series 2's) until recently. I think I've seen this animal but things get merky after awhile. There is one OTS with reminant's of a rear crossover in the Seattle Club but it is so cobbled that it probaby won't prove a thing, so I never wrote its numbers down. Help!!!!!!!!!!
