Thanks. I am still getting no sparks. I had the module tested. It is okay. The pickup coil is okay. I am getting 12 volts to the + and - terminal when I turn the switch on. I check all of the relays. Fuel is doing what it is supose to do stater is doing what it is supose to do. I am suppecting that the wires from the coil maybe grounding out somewhere. I may need a need wiring harness. I am going to trace the 5 wires that lead from the coil. Thanks again. At a lost.

Is he ignition coil good? With the ignition on temporarily and quickly ground the neg. coil terminal and see if you get a spark from the coil center terminal to ground.See what happens. If so the coil is good. Then remove the wires from the amp. to the coil and run 2 new temp.wires from the coil to the amp-you will have to open the black amp. box to do this.If you get spark now, you found the problem.
You also can check out the amp circuit by putting a 12v test light on the neg. coil terminal and watch it as you crank the engine. It should dim and pulse as the circuit works.

Okay, I check the pickup coil by checking the ohm from it. It was 3.33 ohm. The ignition module I had it tested at a part store.
Are you saying to run temporary wires in place of the ones coming off of the pickup coil and the ignition amp. Do I unhook the wires going into the box from the coil and run my own in each case? I am just looking for anything that would generate a spark. The distributor turn around fine. Just not receiving the signal.
The module is a four pin. On one end is terminal B and C coming from the ignition coil and the other end is W and G going to the pickup coil.
Thank you for responding and for the help.

How did you check the pickup coil and the ign.. module. Are you sure they are good.If good for sure run temp. jumper wires replacing those from the pickup to distrib. and from ampl. to coil.

I am still at a lost. I am getting 12volts to the ignition coil. The ignition module is holding the fire and not sending it over to the distributor. The fire is at the top of the ignition modue where the unit is connected to the ignition coil. The pickup coil is okay.Have replace the unit(amp) still no fire. Same results. Replace the starter relay.
Hot wire --igntion wire & ignition amp. Negative wire --- black/white, blue/white and ignition amp. Have check all of the ground strap they are tight and clean.
Tried to by-pass the starter system and still no spark. The distributor is rotating. Do you know of a way that I can generate a spark? The distributor is a LU_45DM6. Is their a way to convert it to a point distributor or is there an distributor that I can use without the use of the amp unit? I am just searching now ---at a lost. Any suggestion?

XJ6 Series III

I am now not getting any fire up to my coil. It it faint then just leaves altogether. Where do I begin first? The weather is not helping as it is being so cold and snowning. Will try this another day when it gets warmer.
