I noticed that SNG and Rob Beere have a spin on filter for the V12 E type but it is part of a oil cooler system. Has anyone tried this setup. I thought it was kind of pricey. Seems as though they could break out the adapter and link up with the existing cooler.

Any thoughts?

Rusty,

I saw an article about that same Rob Beere oil filter adapter/cooler. It is expensive. No one seems to make only a spin-on adapter for our cars.

I do agree with George, for the average driver, an additional oil cooler is not necessary. Our stock set-up does provide some cooling for the engine oil. However, if you are driving your car hard and for extended periods, like Pascal, a separate oil cooler may well be worth the investment. I intend to get the car out on the track a fair amount this year, and drive it hard. I'm giving some serious thought to the oil cooler/spin on adapter to help keep oil pressure up and engine failure down. My $.02.

Here is a thought. Do not do it. The English did not make element filters to frustrate you or anyone else. They used them so that at oil change you could look for signs of problems in the bearings etc. Go watch any race crew when they change oil. They take the spin-on off and use a cutter to remove the shell so they can see the element. On a V-12 this is a super easy job. Save your $$$. This product is probably for Europe where high sustained speeds lead to oil starvation in some cases. I am not talking fast driving I mean pedal to the floor and hold it for hours.
