I own a 1996 XJ12 Jaguar. The car was stolen about 10 years ago. When I bought it a year or so ago, the VIN stickers had been previously removed from the driver's door. Are replacements available?

As far as the Massachusetts DMV, and a reputable nearby body shop can determine. the door is original to the car, as are the other body panels. The consensus is that the Florida insurance company (now out of business) that wrote the car off did this. I have the theft report from the Florida DMV indicating that no body parts were stolen from the car, only wheels, tires and seats. The car is titled and currently registered in Massachusetts

The car is in very excellent condition. This is the only defect on it other than the minor electrical malfunctions that are to be expected in a 15 year old British car.

I wouldn't get my hopes up too high. I've tried getting them for other makes and the manufacturers had no intention whatsoever of providing them...for obvious reasons. Jaguar might be different but I wouldn't count on it.

Besides, there aren't like "spare parts" that are kept in production to meet future repair needs. They made one set per car.

You might be able to find a graphics shop to make a reasonable facsimile.

No--that is not a VIN sticker per se--it is a sticker identifying major parts in an attempt to deter theft of cars for parts and to ID cars that have had major parts ereplaced due to accident. I am not sure of the letter of the LAW but the spirit is that removing them and replacing them is forbidden bu anyone. Sorry-
