I don't even have an E Type, but years ago I bought a complete tool roll which is apparently from a Series 1 EType. I had erroneously thought it was a tool kit for an XK140.

The tools seem complete, but the adjustable wrench is marked "JAGUAR" on one side, and "GARRINGTONS" on a raised rectangular bar on the other side.
I have checked the EType judging guide, and I actually have a copy of Haddocks book, so I am now in doubt whether that adjustable wrench could have actually been original to the tool kit. But maybe the GARRINGTONS could actually be correct for an early E Type.

Could anyone offer an opinion on whether that wrench could be original to the EType tool kit?
And would JCNA deduct points in EType Concours judging for the presence of a GARRINGTONS adjustable wrench, instead of having the "GEDORE" wrench pictured in Haddocks?

While I am at it, I might as well ask if JCNA judging would deduct points for having an EType tool roll with a black material on its inside surface? The old original deteriorated roll has a white material inside surface, but all the repro rolls which I have been able to find seem to have black inside surfaces.

The reason I am asking these questions, is that eventually I will probably buy a nice new reproduction roll and subsequently sell the tools, old roll and new roll all together to someone who has an actual E Type, and I wouldn't want to misrepresent anything.

Thank you in advance for any help.

Oh dear me.......I could have answered my own questions be merely reaching up to the bookshelf and pulling out that very JCNA publication "Jaguar Tools and Tool Kits" by Steve Kennedy et al, which I had already purchased from the Shoppe a couple of years ago!
There on page 31 it says the roll is to be black hardura with a white linen lining!

Am I becoming forgetful or what. Thanks George for jump starting my one remaining memory cell !

Steve Kennedy and several others did a pretty complete research on Jaguar tools a number of years ago and they found adjustable wrench's with three different names, Garrington,Gedore & Bacho. The wrench in my tool roll is a Garrington and I while I doubt that my roll itself is original it's black on the inside.
